I'm as thick skinned as they come and apparently have many of the prized 'male' qualities. And they tell me to act more feminine. Be nice, warm, sweet, less ambitious, more accommodating, etc. So really fuck it all. Be the best version of yourself. The end.

To be fair, I see certain men (especially, men we need more of, because they actually help improve academic culture & increase diversity) struggling in the current system too. Not all women do as much as many men I know. Unpopular opinion perhaps. Just my personal experience.

I totally agree. The system favours a very narrow band of human. That doesn't mean certain people have access to certain privileges but they still are stuck otherwise, yup.
