estimated to be nigh inestimable I knew the first two answers right away D)The second was trickier but , Im a gardener, so I visualized (recall Ive held Waterlilys) my tiny blue Forget-me-nots as the "sample" (3)

I like that you thought about this methodically. All I did was think holy shit 2^60 is so big. And so I chose the biggest answer every time.

It’s a great observation. In the poll I didn’t include larger response options but in my cog & complexity class I do. Eg ‘earth’, ‘sun’, ‘solar system’. Some students pick one of latter two (which is as much of an overestimation as the other options are underestimations).

I wondered sometimes if people who do have experience with exponential growth indeed just think ‘holy shit it is big’ and not necessarily have improved intuition of the growth process itself per se. I’m reminded of crow counting: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, a lot!pic.twitter.com/Jb3NDkeidO

I think so! I can't say but I'm not sure I would have chosen the Sun. But who knows! I think you're onto something though!

BTW my mum loves to remind me that as a baby I couldn't do that ring toy task thing "properly".

I just believe I didn't know the rule. Communication skills aren't my forte.
