Glad I'm in an environment where I'm not exposed to geek hipsters. They do my head in.
My thoughts exactly. :D
I mean hipsters in general do, of course. Most surreal thing was being called one in Oxford. I asked "since when is a goth a hipster?" and their friend, another coworker, replied that "there's no such thing as a real hipster". So I decided to stop talking.
Also not sure what's with this urge to put people into boxes but then argue about what those boxes should contain.
I mean it's fine to think goths are hipsters whatever... But it's firmly in the territory of not using the same words as the rest of the English-speaking world.
I also use UTC for all of my computer time zones. N.B.: I actually do use UTC for all of my time zones.
I do when I'm not on BST (which I hate BTW).
It was certainly a lot more eccentric back when I was living in PST/PDT in Seattle… I think it did weird people out that I so quickly knew what time it was back home when we went to London for a team business trip…
My phone shows both "Home" and current location when I travel. No idea why it has that as a default but it is relatively useful.
Huh, I imagine that would be. But I just use UTC everywhere anyways, so… ;)
