woke up of my own accord. went to the gym for half an hour. smashed a massive breakfast. I mean, I miss my kids, but I may never go home. sorry wife, I live in hotels now.

Ouch sounds brutal
@o_guest: sending good thoughts. But yeah I agree: life is tough as hell as it is, this incoming "side effect" (nickname pending!) is sure going to make things interesting... -
Sending good thoughts (2)
@o_guest I share the tough recovering from travel and conference. I had 2 hours train delay three weeks ago and a 4 hours flight delay two weeks ago. The result was arrive at home past midnight. -
Yeah, I had a flight cancelled going in to the US. So I had to spend the night in Philly. It was hell. I threw away some of the clothes I was wearing because they were just too dirty to keep with me. I lost about 3 kilos and I feel really weak all the time. I need routine.
-
no suitcases, no checked in baggage, melatonin/sleeping pills if needed, direct flights if possible, earplugs, a mask to cover eyes, travel insurance, avoid conference hotels, skip plenty of talks, drink plenty of water and no alcohol. have a routine at home to get away from :-)
-
No suitcases might work for some but I need too many things when away for a week sadly and cannot carry it on my back.
-
Also sleeping on the plane is sadly a trigger for migraine in most cases for me.
-
I basically cannot sleep on planes. Used to really be plane-phobic, less so nowadays. Worse, I seldom can do any work on a plane, it shuts off my brain...
-
That sounds rough. I can sleep and easily so. I just feel completely incapacitated with head pain when I wake up.
