I did a purge a while ago, and specifically unfollowed people (mostly men) that think of themselves as important (thought) leaders and accounts that mostly post stuff I see elsewhere or that doesn't really interest me that much. I'm much happier with my slimmer TL. :)

I factored in some of that, but also tried to leave out criteria like how many men vs women and just focused on people who are insightful in some way, and those that don't make me want to rip my own arm off and hit them with it. I'm removing stress from my life in all fronts

I actually follow too many people to go through manually in a meaningful way (at least for my time) so I actually wrote a script to delete people. Ha.

That's an amazing Python script! Thank you so much for sharing this! I need to get rid of outdated, rubbish accounts, & keep the awesome ones in. Could your script incorporate a custom whitelist to guarantee the accounts (the ones you must absolutely keep) will never get removed?

Thanks. It could but it doesn't.

I added extensive comments just now, not sure if that was before or after you looked of course. Hopefully those will help to guide you through adding that functionality.

Didn't see the comments until you mentioned it! That will help tremendously. Thanks again!

If you make that change feel free to share the script of course but be careful to scrub down your secrets. If you share the secrets you will allow access to your account by anybody.

Of course
This is an important tip for anyone who will use the script. Always keep your security / account-specific credentials to yourself.1 reply 0 retweets 1 like
