Lobsterdaddy is on the BBC talking about how everyone else is too easily offended. This man thinks that teachers and professors who criticise the status quo should be replaced because they're turning kids away from God and captalismhttps://twitter.com/o_guest/status/1024929374104104962 …

Absolutely. The idea that the best way to stop proto-fascists is to give them a platform "so everyone can debate their ideas" has been proven wrong so many times now. No matter who "wins" the debate, having it still increases their popularity.

did you ever see Peter Coffin's fishhook theory vid? It basically asserts that the centre's obsession with "fairness" and "both sides" inherently opens them up to propagating far-right ideas simply by insisting that they deserve a platform when they really don't
-
I don't know if I have seen it explicitly, but I agree with this idea and have thought of it too.
-
Fair enough :D The flip side, at least, is that the constant whining about how unfair it is when people are deplatformed for their shitty views makes for a good barometer of how effective those tactics are

I'll check it out. I REALLY REALLY recommend this, if you haven't seen it!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sx4BVGPkdzk …
