Quick point about neutrality in debates: I was amazed when I realized it’s impossible to draw a neutral world map. You either put Crimea with Russia or Ukraine. You either put Kashmir with India or with Pakistan. Heck, even the spelling can put you on one or the other side. 1/

Could you, and I am in no way attached to this position, draw all the contested areas as contested and move on?

But is that even neutral? It's sort of like saying that "I didn't vote, so you can't blame me for Trump" or "I'm not taking a stance on whether or not this person should be beating you with a stick". You're implicitly agreeing that the contest for the area is somehow valid

I mean, you could take a stand and say "occupied Crimea" and colour it a different colour.

Although “occupation” means it’s part of Ukraine, since Russia couldn’t occupy something that legitimately belongs to them, no?

"Occupied" is so political.
