@drkatedevlin don't suppose you've ever come across a 'science of learning to code'? I'm failing to find much from the 'psychology' side! Pondering with your computers/psychophysics background, you may have an inkling :)

OK, I think that's all the names that spring to mind. Sorry if I've missed anybody or tagged anybody who doesn't want to be tagged. Let me know and I'll untag you.

Just to be clear, and provided I've understood, your query is about a different field to Experimental Psychology.

I'm generally interested in how people learn to code and issues around coding such as human error => code failure. I wonder if I can devote myself to this. Would fall under experimental psychology (as I've little experience outside

beginning is more studied than, say, professional programmers. people come at it in all sorts of ways. not exactly my thing but
@therealcaro says http://web.media.mit.edu/%7Ekbrennan/files/Brennan_Resnick_AERA2012_CT.pdf … is cited by everyone (made scratch),@JeremyDietmeier@AmandaOchsner@dennisRamirez probably know more. -
people study it from all sorts of different angles (mental models/math & procedural learning/literacy/&c) are don't talk super much except at, say,
@islsnews's cscl conference is where a lot of it converges -
Thanks! That's awesome!
