Academics write to each other a lot. Academics introduce each other a lot. And they have an amazing ability to muck up names, sufficient that even my omni-WASP surname gets reduced to 'Heather' about twice a month. So, in what creative ways do people butcher your name/surname?
I have no idea how to say your surname. I'm bilingual and didn't go to school in English, but I doubt that's helping here.

Think of the I and J as a Y and it’s close enough :)

Pronunciation more like Izerman/Yzerman
