I’ve heard of apps that do that for you automatically, not sure.

When I install such an app, someone please remind me that it's time to quit social media.

I'm no expert on correspondence or partial similarity but I see you are saying the two women above should quit social media. Nice. /s

Titus: Some of us consider social media as a meaningful tool to promote inclusivity and good scientific practice. In that context, being followed by a major society is significant.

Yes, fully agree. But we know from research about the negative effects of social media for psychological well-being. They are the reason why I personally chose to quit Facebook and why I'm often considering to quit twitter. I was just speaking about my own experience.

I understand your experience. You need to counter weight it but realising even if it's true that it's stressful to interact on social media it's equally (if not more so?) to interact offline socially for women.

And any cues to help with offline interaction (like who or what is following you online) are actually valuable pieces of information if you are navigating the complex social world as a woman (sexism, etc).

Unlike you we can't in all cases, e.g., offline, chose to delete our accounts and forget about it. Because unlike you the online world for us might actually predict offline reactions and interactions.

For example, sexually inappropriate messages sent to me by colleagues (who exist in my field and offline) on Twitter cannot be addressed AT ALL by deleting my account.
