Strong woman. This is why I'm essentially scared to say "shut up" and 99% of the time pretend not to hear anything. When I have said something like "I don't talk to strangers" I get rape threats.

That's unfortunate. I wish the science addressed this. The problem with operant conditioning is that it can somewhat dehumanzing. And it can take outright brutal forms when you combine it with something like the American culture.
-
This is France though, of course.

Yes. My reaction was very American, though (and had quite a bit to do with how you said you get rape threats). And, of course, this type of thing happens everywhere. Violence towards the innocent is sadly universal. It's monstrous, really.

A multivariate situation that can be complex to address. Anyway, I'll let you be. Again, my apologies. That was a deeply disturbing video for me. Some of the people I've loved the most have been a victim of sexual violence, and it too often leaves permanent damage.
-
I appreciate that you try to understand the problem and find solutions. I only wanted to mention that far too often the burden is placed on the wrong side. That's also why it's so important for bystanders to step up (as done here, and with regard for their own safety)
-
You're very right, Christina. It most definitely is not the woman's fault. I'm sorry if I implied that in any way. Thank you for your kind words. I was perhaps too overreactive. There are societal failures here that must be addressed in a sincere way.

Again, my apologies. I was raised by my grandfather, and grew up mostly with female friends, so I hate to see this type of things. It literally breaks my heart.

I think many times there are 2 types of men who engage in such behavior 1) deeply hurt people society has failed. Hurt people share pain. and b) the sort of "jock" "bro" culture which mixes entitlement with violence. This should just be abandoned. It doesn't work anymore
