Hilarious. But sad. Mostly sad, especially in context.

Sometimes I find my account has unfollowed people that I don't remember unfollowing. There used to be an unfollow bughttps://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/twitter/9171160/Twitter-admits-unfollowing-bug.html …
-
Not sure that's what's up here.
-
That's from 2012, this happened in 2018... I think it's safe to say it's something else. Thanks for the attempt at positive spin, but it's a little offensive to say it's an accident or bug IMHO.

Just sharing my personal experience. 100% for sure you know more about your situation than I do :-)

OK. If you want to know more, the society's chair replied here.https://twitter.com/IrisVanRooij/status/1024288773574729731?s=19 …

I assume you looked at all these side threads and stuff but just in case as it's really exploded.

Professional jealousy.

I was just at their conference. I guess they unfollowed me during it.

Just another, of many, tiny nudges that I don't belong there. Not that I need membership to a society to be a member of the field, of course. I just won't worry when it's time to renew membership next year.

This is after I helped to organise a workshop on women and gender minorities in cognitive computational science, too...
-
You did a great service to the field! it’s awful they did this to you

As Brad said and as I am sure you know, it's not just me.https://twitter.com/ProfData/status/1024274979762987008 …

This is only whoever runs their twitter account, but this action is indicative of an organisation that is deeply flawed and a poor reflection of the larger cognitive science enterprise. It's totally sensible to put your energy elsewhere.

Exactly and thank you!

This is absurd. This must be a twitter glitch, right? Will post general tweet. Best not snitch tag here.

What the hell is wrong with them?

Your guess is as good as mine.

I don't understand anything anymore. Frankly, their loss
