this is great initiative. i think CogSci is not accessible to deaf researchers at all- and thus they do not submit i would also like to see more CogSci conferences outside of north America and Canada -especially not in a row .what about satellite CogScis in diff continents

I think those are excellent points! Maybe it would also be an option to live stream talks to increase accessibility? And offer remote presenting? I've seen remote presentations at CogSci, mentioning the option explicitly might draw submissions from those who can't travel

All great points - in particular for citizens of countries that are not likely to get a visa. Would there be a chance of doing the same thing with posters? Maybe try to make available tablets/pads for online participation during the poster session or something similar?

Live streaming & remote representations may also be useful for those who can’t travel because of parental or other care taking duties & those for whom the country where the conference is held is unsafe (eg LGBT scientists). Though better would be to avoid such countries.
