Original idea for a list was Christina's!

In the adjacent/overlapping field of comp neuro I "invented" a game for boring conference talks where I counted the number of men with long hair vs women with long hair. Numbers were often about even.

That's... Depressing. Have you put your numbers per conference online? Thank you for the kind words BTW!

I haven't gone to a comp neuro specific conference in years due to health issues and so the numbers would be hard to find in old notebooks unfortunately. My husband's on his way home from one, I'll ask him what the gender ratio like.

Ugh. Fingers crossed it's not abysmal!

Now I'm wondering if he will have noticed. He's very socially progressive but it's his first small conference and his focus was feeling out job opportunities. Curious if the gender ratio will have crossed his mind. Will report back.

My partner notices more than I do and he's the one who got me into really picking up on this. Especially that women seem to be interrupted even more often than men for example.

I should have given my husband more credit. I just asked him and he started laughing and said, I can't answer that. Then guessed 10-20% female. Not as bad at senior levels.

Ha. 20% is sadly good.
