Yes, literally
(as in “OMG, Iris is a noob, hahaha!”, when I ask a question that shows my uninformedness about the latest ‘thing’ in gaming). Affectionately teasing me. I think they enjoy knowing more than me.
-
But, now I checked urban dictionary, and see they actually probably mean ‘newbie’. Oh, I’m sooooo going to tell them! Wish me luck

In Greek there's the suffix -ara (-αρα) which means big or archetypal and we even say noobara.
You can call them noobs for not knowing noob? N00b is another spelling varient. Report back on what happens!

Calling a comp modeller a noob is pretty good trolling IMHO.pic.twitter.com/3lq6UUIVGR

Indeed! Oh, I see your dictionary says they are right. Hm. They already laughed at me before for using ‘noob’ incorrectly (which made me a bigger noob), and even the word ‘troll’. I need to be better prepared this time ... Will report back!
-
Update: By initiating an (urban) dictionary discussion on the meaning of the word ‘noob’, I think I succeeded in getting upgraded to noobara.
