ok i’ll say it. there seems to be a group of (academic) men on twitter, who only show up in my mentions to impart some wisdom, without ever liking anything i say or even engaging with what i say. they seem to be looking for a platform to voice their opinions. glad to know they

I always appreciate that, if you call me out on something (on either of my accounts, whether or not in an academic capacity), you do so fully intending to discuss the issue. This thread has made me consider whether i can always say the same of myself, so thanks for that,

I dont think that matters, especially if the call-out is perhaps semantic or statistical in nature. For many the line between their political & professional lives is very blurred, i feel the courtesy shd be extended regardless; particularly WRT gender & institutionalised misogyny

No no, im saying that the privilege that remains a part of the male academic world shouldnt be perpetuated but also shouldnt be allowed to permeate interactions in other fora
