Standing on a street corner across river from Westminster... not hearing any calls to prayer Ellie. Never have in London. Ever. No-one is being attacked, no groups of people of any faith - not one individual - is visibly praying or holding up traffic. Possible you're a bit nuts?https://twitter.com/achievechange/status/1015722010977165312 …

Yeah I know. But. People believe it. Doesnt hurt to call them out, its way too late to try and suck the oxygen out of that particular fire

The thing about mental health is that conditional on low MH you can't conclude bigot. But sure conditional on bigot you probably can conclude low MH. That's an important difference and not "just correlation".
-
Of course, that was implied. Didnt have space to indicate the direction of correlation but of course it makes no sense to infer bigotry from low MH!
-
Yeah, to you. Sadly others do.
-
Glad we agree!

-
Either way one can't excuse their bigotry with "but I have low MH"... They often try and often get away with it though.

-
I've not yet encountered anyone defend their bigotry as doing such would acknowledge it is bigotry - let alone doing so by pulling the MH card. But I actually tend not to associate with bigots, so I feel I'm probably suffering a bit of filter bubbling
-
A lot of people (white cis men) do this within the autism community.
-
Ok, yeah, I have seen similar things. It can be easy to deliberately misinterpret stuff and be knowingly rude to ppl then just blame it on Aspergers. I have been guilty of that a few times - not in a bigoted way but I can def see how that leap can be made.
