In Paris, esp at some of the busier stations like Chatelet and Gare du Nord, people basically block the train doors so much that people can only get out single file and it takes forever, then people start pushing to get on before everyone's even off yet. It's miserable and bad.

I'm so glad it's nowhere near that bad here.

Whenever I go away for a while and then come back I know I'm back in France when everything is broken and no one gives a shit

Agreed, especially on the Victoria where trains are so frequent. I have a little compassion at the end of the day when people are exhausted and perhaps a bit absent-minded. But when I try for eye contact or ask them to move, their defensive instinct kicks & I want to punch ‘em :(

It was Saturday late morning though... But yeah, I know...

This violates every stereotype I have about British queueing

Completely agree Olivia, I held back the obnoxious yesterday to let someone BACK ON the carriage they had stepped off from to let others off, I’m a middle aged white guy. It’s more to do with those ppl being “a bit of a twat”, nothing to do with age or colour.

Just going off my experiences. Nice that you stopped them from barging in.

I know just what you mean. Some people have no manners and it’s infuriating.

It's just awful!

Yes, I push them out of the way when I'm getting off.
