Dedomenai (αι δεδομέναι) is not only plural but also a direct translation from Greek is "that which is given". Not relevant directly to whether "data" should be used in English as a plural (since languages change dramatically over time), but interesting nonetheless.

Those genders aren't reflective of the biological gender of the crab BTW! Just a way (preference, habit, dialect, whatever) of talking. In Cyprus we use the neutral for crabs, in Greece I hear the male most IIRC.

Swap that round. Cyprus uses the male. I can keep the words I wanna say and listen to this talk.

In Cyprus "head" (κεφαλή) is female in Greece neutral (κεφάλι). No idea how these differences start but they're cool.
