Drinking absolutelyoptional! It's mainly just a fun name.

I also haven’t been drinking much and am just back from a pretty booze conference (although not as bad as it used to be). I think a fun little chat including exactly this topic would be awesome!

That is to say, I would love to hear any of you in the thread discuss this point

I enjoy all the drinks but I'm not good with staying up late, so conferences are hard. Also kind of amazed at how everybody else does it?

I have NO IDEA how they do it!! More power (if you’re not being a drunk asshole & hitting on women at a professional event!)

I should say that if I stay out late it's probably with several people I know so luckily I haven't experienced such behavior

A lot of drinking is down to 2 things if I understand correctly: some ppl's livers are "better" at dealing with alcohol's behavioural effects (and men typically are bigger than women, thus have bigger livers, which helps) & drinking often helps to make 1 used to the effects.

I'm just confused when I see people who are more affected than me (so they had lots to drink for their size), stay out later and then go on to do important things the day after, and then repeat again

Yeah exactly! And I probably wake up at 5am after 4 hours of sleep, without setting an alarm, because I'm worried about something I have to do later that day

Livers and genetics are related and I think it's definitely a big role in how certain types of people can be relatively high functioning and yet on the alcoholic side in terms of amounts of drinking.
