Ok, I see. Thank you for pointing out. Will reflect on it myself too. That’s an important point.

I thought for a sec you were answering my other question (this one: https://twitter.com/irisvanrooij/status/1006228148441309184?s=21 …). I sincerely wonder why there seems less ethusiastic response from women to this (than to the male allies thread), and I wondered if I am misphrasing the question.

Iris van Rooij @IrisVanRooijInspired by chat w/@criticalneuro, I'm reposting the tweet below. Although heartened by responses so far, I noticed it gets notably fewer responses compared to the original#maleallies thread. So this got me thinking. Why is this? https://twitter.com/IrisVanRooij/status/998141436083232768 …0 replies 0 retweets 2 likes -

That's interesting. I would never think to send such an email. Pondering why. I guess because it's obvious (to me). Or maybe it feels artificial (to me) - as in show, don't tell. Will do better.

I agree with this analysis. I think women (white, cis, monosexual, Western, middle class (not in UK class system, just economically) plus, neurotypical, able-bodied, etc) very rarely get told to check their privilege.

So often they have no idea that, like you say
@djnavarro, they are privileged. I pass as white but I'm bi and enby, from the Levant/Middle East, and neuroatypical with chronic pain — some of the worst stuff I've endured has been from "blind spots" that white British women have.1 reply 1 retweet 1 like -
That being said of course all the times I've been sexually harassed and assaulted at work has been by men except one instance which was a woman.

Oh, no, I'm wrong: two exceptions (two were women). But that's still an overwhelming minority of times.
