I’m sorry. You mean that you’d advice to phrase the question differently?

Agreed. I think it is quite telling that I had to work through several layers of anxiety before I could write a thread that touches upon the privilege of white cis women in academia (while even burying it quite deep in my thread and after several safety hedges at the start).

So often they have no idea that, like you say
@djnavarro, they are privileged. I pass as white but I'm bi and enby, from the Levant/Middle East, and neuroatypical with chronic pain — some of the worst stuff I've endured has been from "blind spots" that white British women have. -
That being said of course all the times I've been sexually harassed and assaulted at work has been by men except one instance which was a woman.
-
Oh, no, I'm wrong: two exceptions (two were women). But that's still an overwhelming minority of times.

Yeah, I agree. I'm in a similar position being white/cis BUT disable & Eastern European. I'm very aware of my privileges tho & use them as tools to supports others (e.g. tinny steps -> making my teaching materials v.diverse & inclusive ( not sure if this counts as support tho :)

It does :)
