The article is public and on arxiv. Why is that not enough for those asking you when it will be published? They can already read and cite it

People ask you when https://arxiv.org/abs/1711.04640 will be published right? What would interest me is: why aren't the people who ask you satisfied with having the arxiv article?

I can't know motivations w/out interviewing them, but I can ofc guess. I don't think it's anything to do w satisfaction like you assume. I suppose it's cos they want to know things that (for better/worse) correlate w a journal pub, e.g., my career, coverage of the work, etc.
