Today I spoke with a dentist. He told me my English is very good. He then asked me how long I had been in the UK for. I told him I've been here a decade. He told me he is a dentist and did a big hand gesture as if brushing his teeth. He then mentioned it had been humid in Bristol

United Kingdom which can sometimes be a little confusing. I told him I lived in Scotland for almost 5 years and I am a UK citizen so I know this. He then told me Great Britain means something yet again different. And now I have developed a fear of the dentist.

I don't think it was a come-on at all. He was a bit older than me. I should've asked him where he lived because I can almost bet money he doesn't live in this part of Bristol where you are exposed to the foreign all the time
