Really standard mapping which I am pretty sure Spanish and English bilinguals (which I am not) are familiar with. I am seeing it's an -ity to -dad (and vice versa) mapping as well as others too. So vanity vanidad, calamity calamidad. Obviously languages are a mess though...

...but come on English and Spanish obviously have a buttload of similar (cognate) words. Sadly similarity doesn't map onto similaridad.
