PM @jacindaardern on this week’s Budget: ‘There will be investment in education, because we firmly believe that in a country as prosperous as ours...all of our kids should have the best education possible, and one that sets them up for life.’ #EdConvo18

But not the 1300 at charter schools ,that failed in our state schools. All your dribble shows if its against your ideology or teachers union you don't give a stuff for the kids. Mind you labour have never liked families or children other than for photo shoots

Nonsense. Research overwhelming shows Charter Schools are inefficient and damaging within an education system. The children currently at Charter Schools struggled in mainstream because the previous govt destroyed and underfunded our education system.

I don’t love charter schools despite being an Act voter but quality of education has nothing to do with funding. Some people respond better to other teaching styles and should have that option.

Agreed that different learning styles suit different learners. That’s a given. Would you not think that with increased funding the quality of teaching would increase at all? Smaller class sizes, special education support, teacher aide living wage/assistance... etc etc

No to be honest. Some kids simply aren’t suited to mainstream schools and that has nothing to do with class sizes. It’s because everyone learns differently. As for wages, a big problem is the inability of teachers to negotiate independently.

Are you excluding Montessori and Steiner schools? I agree that there are some students who don’t sit right in mainstream, mostly SEN children.

ummm and what about the children who are only able to prosper due to joining Charter schools. They are not in your plan because you did not put the Charter school together. Comrade use "I" and "i did it" "I wont accept that". Greatest Team player ever.

We have been in a two year battle with MOE Property to address the appalling conditions of my son and his peers Special Needs learning environment. The health and safety for students and teachers continue to be ignored or minimized. Visit WHHS Rotorua and see for yourself !!
