I know the math is challenging, but I’m going to go out on a limb here & predict a near immediate drop in entry level employment opportunities followed by an attempt to blame same on climate change. @MarkHubbard33 #nzpol

I know the math is challenging, but I’m going to go out on a limb here & predict a near immediate drop in people struggling to pay rent each week & worrying about feeding their children. ..A little more important that a slight drop in employment prospects.

The real minimum wage is always 0. If small business like a cafe or dairy can’t absorb the increase, either the job or the business will disappear. If raising the minimum is the solution to poverty, why not make it $25? It’s not politics,it’s math.

I'm a Chef & I've worked in some amazing small businesses over the years. A business is built on it's workers. ..If your workers can't survive the week on the paycheck that YOU give them - you are not doing your job as their Employer. You are taking advantage of them.

You’re fortunate if your business allows you to absorb or your clientele allow you to pass on the increase. A lot of small businesses aren’t in that position.

raising minimum wages hurts young and inexperienced people trying to get on the employment ladder and work experience the hardest. it results in lower employment and higher costs for everyone.https://youtu.be/4j01L69eXdI

Umm, no it doesn’t. One YouTube clip doesn’t prove your point any more than one climate change denier overturns the volume of evidence that climate change is real. Or perhaps you don’t accept that either...

It is also important to note that many people whose wages that are above the minimum wage are also based on the minimum wage as a base so there will also be bumps in low income earners even for those who earn more than the minimum wage.

Labour stopped being a real political force in 1990. Then the Marxists took over and joined National Marxists in dragging NZ further and further into mindless socialism and population control.
