In 1987 Labour passed the New Zealand Nuclear Free Zone, Disarmament, and Arms Control Act. Thirty years later, we're still committed to standing up for our values.pic.twitter.com/61bIQkiHDG

The rest of the Act bans any amount of nuclear material that is capable of causing damage. * Nuclear Explosive Devices * Biological weapons Any form of nuclear material in NZ has to be under the legal limit & deemed safe.

I was 7 when I met David Lange..gave him flowers & welcomed him to Gisborne!😊 He & his wife were SO lovely! He had just passed the Nuclear Free Act. My parents were incredibly happy! So my mum sat us down & explained to us why this was so important. ..She was right..!😊pic.twitter.com/m927xa1V7u

Although in fairness the focus on a nice little social justice issue was a good distraction for the picketing left. Rather than do the hard yards and read some economics to counteract Rogernomics they preferred flags and bumper stickers

so labour supporters are too scared to travel overseas? to australia, usa, uk, france, japan, china, germany, thailand, bali? that's interesting. make sure you stick to that - stop all mp and pm overseas trips - and don't forget to wear your tinfoil hats at all times.
