Selling state houses always seems like a win win situation. Families that own their home take better care and increase there wealth. The state get more money to build modern homes. At the end of the day people are living in the house whoever owns it. What % was the mass selloff?

my parents purchased a State house in Wanganui in the 50's just before I was born. 2 bedrooms for 2 adults and 3 kids. they were thankful for the opportunity to do so. Seems that won't happen now due to this Labour lead Govt. shame.

Because building 7 houses at the top spec we build them will cost more than $3m? Time to think about what is needed in a government house. Warm, insulated and safe. The added extras can be used to rather build more houses.
