For Bill, it's not about if the tax system is fair. He just wants to scare, w/ lies about us wanting new taxes. Seem a bit hypocritical?pic.twitter.com/SndVBB0ySl

Reversing a tax decrease is the same as lifting taxes. It's not hard really is it. The so called Transparency is destroying Labour. Lies

What lies? And get real, Labour are hardly destroyed. Nats are the kings of smoke and mirrors which is why they're faltering badly.

All will be revealed on 23rd. Are you surprised that Jacinda has gone stroppy today, lost her cool head? Not a loaded Q at all.

Remember 2008 when National ran a 'policy free' campaign and then set up a Tax Working Group in 2009 and ignored its recommendations?

Right so, John Key was a snake oil salesman and you bought it, and thus we have the situation we're in today.

We're a rich nation full of poor people. More people better off? Incorrect. 10% own 60% of wealth, 40% own just 3% of it, disparate times.

They didn't *just* raise GST on tobacco - I could have lived with that - but food, books, etc?

That's a different issue - tobacco raises are excise tax.

I wonder if the constant tax increase on ciggies raised the price so high it contributed to all those crimes on shop keepers & dairy owners?

Almost certainly. I also understand there to be evidence of gang-run cigarette black markets.
