#TodayinHistory: On this day in 1937, Labour opened New Zealand's first state house. Most of the Labour Cabinet helped the McGregor family move in, with Prime Minister Michael Joseph Savage carrying a dining table through a cheering crowd. 📸: https://nzhistory.govt.nz/media/photo/the-first-state-house-savage …pic.twitter.com/r8XpruKY0g

Eight decades later, we're still committed to supporting New Zealanders through initiatives like our Families Package. It's part of our Government's commitment to make New Zealand the best place in the world to be a child, and to raise a child. More ➡️ http://nzlp.nz/dfzoj

Savage would be aghast at what you've twisted his vision into today. Savage was about a hand-up, and modern Labour has turned it into hand-out. You're a disgrace.

People from Petone will tell you that the first state houses were opened in Petone in 1906 by Seddon.

Yes she lost the election because too many Kiwis are selfish arseholes and didn't want to lose their white privilege. She did us proud at the UN to get as far as she did in what is basically a boys club. If you are a woman you should be ashamed.
