Stop calling Flint's children "poisoned." All it does is terrify the parents and community members here who truly believe there may be a “generation lost” in this city, when there is no scientific evidence to support this conclusion.https://nyti.ms/2NBT3Ci

Interesting. Will read the article, because my understanding of it is completely opposite of what this headline suggests.

This is a profoundly terrible take. The water didn't start out with high levels of lead in it. Govt actions led to it being added to the water, and the local, state, and federal govts have known about it for over a year. If it hasn't been fixed by now, THEY ARE BEING POISONED.

Yeah, well the scientists brought in from out of state, because the state of Michigan refused to send scientists, beg to differ. Go live in Flint for a month, drinking only the tap water. If you’re healthy afterwards, then talk all you want.

Stop making a fuss. If you balk about drinking your poisoned water you might frighten fellow water drinkers that don't know it's poisoned yet!!! Nestle. They buy ads from you don't they? What's a few more dead kids as long as you get paid. Recite your pledge and cash your check.pic.twitter.com/iiCauYygam

They were Poisoned. East Chicago Indiana was poisoned, Detroit and other communities are being poisoned. Greed, racism, cassism and indifference is the cause.

So the correct verb to describe getting lead poisoning would be? Poisoned. The fact lead poisoning is a much wider problem than Flint is also horrific and this take is irresponsible, simplistic or actively intellectually dishonest.
