Ford is phasing out its passenger cars, except one: the Mustang. The car may be only modestly profitable for Ford, but it has deep emotional power.https://nyti.ms/2IJYd1p

If they stopped making the mustang, then they should just change the name of the company at that point.

It would be great if @ford helped save the actual wild Mustangs being rounded up and sent away to become food. That would be some A+ positive marketing and really on brand.

Biggest error, phasing out cars, wait until gas goes up! SUVs will become a trap.

New SUVs are basically cars. Ford, specifically, are producing small displacement engines and using turbocharging for their SUVs to achieve MPG ratings that “cars” couldn’t dream not long ago. The days of SUVs being trucks are long gone.

If the mustang still looked like that, they'd sell a hell of a lot more of them than they do. The new one looks like a squashed toy version.
