I've never worked for a company that would allow me to demonstrate during work hours or while wearing the company brand. The NFL is not the first to implement this kind of policy. I would say they're probably one of the last.

On the other hand, I’ve never worked for a company that asked for a display of patriotism.
-
Being required to refrain from blatantly disrespecting 40000 fans who respect the flag & the men and women who served under it, is not a demand for patriotism.
-
I didn’t say it was a demand for patriotism. I said it was a demand for a display of patriotism, a very specific behavior dictated by the employer. No employer has ever asked me to bow my head, kow tow, hop up and down on one foot, or perform any other display they might prefer.

If you are making the argument that the NFL is violating players first amendment rights by not allowing them to kneel, then you have to agree that the NFL is violating people's second amendment rights by not allowing them to carry. You can't support one and not the other.
-
Where did I say anything about not allowing people to carry?

NFL players should all boycott by not showing up for a game. What Trump is doing is illegal.
-
Trump had nothing to do with. There’s nothing illegal. They have free speech. They just can’t use their employer as a platform.

The only free speech conservatives believe in is the freedom to cast slurs without accountability.

My feeling is that NFL players can find infinite ways to express themselves... What about turning their back on the field? Or if need be, the gloved fist at the end of a raised-arm. It's been done before.
-
It's because kneeling is a carefully chosen form of expression. It's not aggressive. It's not disrespectful. It's not even defiant. It's just thought-provoking, and very hard to frame as violent or destructive. Therefore, it's genuinely dangerous to those in power.
-
It is disrespectful to my uncle buried in Belgium and my father who served for 30 years as a Marine. Sorry, it just is.
-
Even a country worth serving and sacrificing for just isn't perfect. I'm sure people who serve are aware of that as much as anyone. It's not necessarily disrespect to them to try to make the country better, more aware of what it has left to do, and more worth the cost.
-
It is a disrespect. Find another way.

Nope. Wrong take Dave. Right wingers come to campus to have an open discussion about am I monkey, are Muslims monsters, do immigrants deserve human rights, are women chaotic evil etc. NFL players are protesting killing black people
@Drobsidian -
I didn't see coverage by the MSM of a single white person killed by police even though there was 457 killed. There were 223 blacks killed and I'm pretty sure 90% of them were covered by the media. Blacks have been had by the dems and media once again.
-
I know the answer to this without even looking and I am an expert on this sort of thing. Police are far more likely to shoot black & brown folks far more quickly in far more situations but there are far more white folks so they shoot more of them.
-
With more than twice as many whites killed last year by the police than blacks why did the MSM not cover a single one?
-
Actually you may remember several such stories if you take the time to look for them but the worst thing about folks like you is how little interest you have in knowing things. It is fascinating.
