No shit? You mean areas sinking into the ocean are likely to flood again?

Poor people are more likely to live in areas vulnerable to flooding and other natural disasters (it's less expensive) so a call for cutting this kind of aid will have the side effect of hurting some of the most vulnerable people in the country.

When we were hit by a hurricane Irene in Upstate NY, FEMA paid us a whopping $32,000 and we lost the land as it was reverted back to the Town, never to be on the tax rolls again. How is it in these area's, FEMA keeps paying them? Once you're paid that should be it.

Where are the Risk Managers? They are the ones who will coordinate all relevant reports and come up with options. Engineering, geophysical, urban, architectural, political, etc.

Truth?Very few places on the planet are immune2natural disasters. Few years back a major earthquake hit the central east coast of the US. Hard enough 2 loosen the granite blocks of the Wash. monument. 1800’s a quake actually reversed the flow of the Mississippi River.#Sinkhole DC
