When Jason Bateman painted Jeffrey Tambor's behavior as typical of certain performers, Alia Shawkat interjected: "But that doesn't mean it's acceptable"https://nyti.ms/2IJlbFK

Note to Jason Bateman, when you repeatedly say “not to belittle” before doing precisely that, and when you tell a woman who has been a professional actress for decades “how the industry works” you are part of the problem. You too. #metoo #TimesUp

Good for Alia Shawkat and bad for Justin Bateman. He lost a fan today.

He also attempted to explain “how Hollywood works” to an actress who has been working in Hollywood longer than he has. But I guess she just really needed a man to explain it to her in order to get it...

Hollywood has changed, it's not the same as it was 40 years ago I swear you people are easily offended lol

Which is something that a woman who has been working in the industry for the last 40 years would understand, and wouldn’t need explained to her.

Given how old she is and how times do change, I would say she needs a little guidance from a young great actor like Jason

No one needs someone to tell them that being screamed at by a coworker is acceptable or professional behavior.

Jason Bateman is a great actor, but he was clearly doing damage control by defending indefensible behavior. Good to see SHE spoke up for herself during the interview and he was called out and apologized.
