I think the problem is people who dont acknowledge the person using their manners. For example when I'm grocery shopping I always say TY or excuse me, & it's usually ignored but I do it anyway. Most people feel like why should I even bother being polite if it's not reciprocated.

True. Some people will never reciprocate. But many others will learn from your example and you will affect positive change. And it beautifully reflects on who you are. ❤️

The thing is.. when you do this thing... When you take the step to make a stranger feel appreciated for even a small thing, maybe they go home and take a little extra time with their child. Maybe they don't gripe at their spouse. It echoes. It's good.

Disagree, tons of arab “canadians” are rude as hell and devoid of common courtesy and manners. I encounter it every single day.

I embarrass myself ten times a day by saying Thank You to Alexa for turning on and off my lights. I legitimately feel rude if I don't.

I’m English. That means I end almost every sentence with ‘thanks’ or ‘sorry’ 🙂 Maybe we’re making up for everyone else?
