On Saturday, the world came to see Meghan Markle as "a woman who embraces blackness as forthrightly and easily as she wears a Givenchy wedding dress and Queen Mary’s diamond tiara"https://nyti.ms/2Lg11kn

Emm no us Brits came together to see Prince Harry who we’ve grown up alongside & watch walk behind his mum Princess Dianas hearse at age 12 whilst we all mourned, be happily married to Meghan, not that other headline crap. 🙄🙄

I usually don't care too much about Royals--but the statement this wedding made--the positive direction the world is heading in the long view--was a refreshing moment in an otherwise pretty traumatizing year. And they are adorable. <3

Agreed. We also noticed that during the vows the term "let no *one* tear asunder" replaced "man". Still a way to go, but progress at least.

And the NY times continues to foment racism as easily as it propagates lies about President Trump!

Really...the world watched the wedding to see the bride’s “blackness”? I would venture to guess that only people who are preoccupied with race thought about Markle’s skin color. The rest of us thought about a nice couple that looked very happy together.

Um.. like Thomas Jefferson the royal family are like other people of privilege they've have taken lovers and partners of many other races but were not allowed to marry them. Now finally times have changed that they can marry the people they love openly. About damn time.

You know, I look forward to the day when the least interesting thing about a beautiful, kind, accomplished woman is that she is of mixed race. How 'bout we let that go and focus on the content of her character.
