In @NYTOpinion Op-Ed columnist @PaulKrugman writes, "1980 was an inflection point for a lot of things in America. That can’t be an accident. And it's also almost surely not an accident that this turning point coincided with the election of Ronald Reagan."https://nyti.ms/2Lgg2mn

The 1980's was the decade in which greed became acceptable. The 1990's lost respect and decency, while the 2000's started a weird wave of paranoia and rudeness.

Reagan election...beginning of the end, start of open assault on hard-working Americans ('outsourcing' and 'downsizing'). Reagan did same sh*t to California as governor. But Rs (rich, white guys) love to describe him as some kind of God! Ugh!

Same in the UK with Thatcher. They both dominated politics at home and throughout the world in the 80s. Things changed and not for the better.

Reagan's presidency initiated the widening disparity in income equality that today has become grotesque. Ironically, he's a hero to vast numbers of Americans that now blame the government for their plight. Sad!

It was never a mystery to people paying attention. I was born in 1980 and my parents taught me early that Reagan basically wrecked the country, and most of the baby boomers let him.

Wealth compression, an economic term ignored by economists, and lay people alike, died a political death around 1977. We ahven't been the same since.
