It's clear Meghan Markle wanted to make a point of her racial identity, to put her heritage front and center in full view of a vast audience. It's equally clear that Prince Harry knew exactly what this would mean to the tradition-bound royal family.https://nyti.ms/2KGbogn

It’s also clear that the Queen would have known details of the wedding of her favourite grandson, and realises the Royal family must embrace change if they are to survive. The wedding was perfect....a beautiful mixture of cultures

I enjoyed the service and thought the Rev started off well and made some nice points but talked for too long and in a way that didn’t really fit with the rest of the service.

British people especially Royals do not like being yelled at during a wedding service, even if it is in love and the words are beautiful. It's just not done. Not a race thing, it's a culture thing. It was also way too long. This dual citizen was absolutely cringing.

This Minister was so out of place! His speech should have been much shorter. He made me cringe also..

I wouldn't say "he" was out of place, just that he should have known his audience and adjusted accordingly or realised there would be a culture clash and declined the invite.

I must say, your piece captured the day. My 2cents — to deny or recoil from one’s heritage is to disown the essence of who you are. Only when you accept your racial identity & embrace it can you reach your full potential. This is what Meghan Markle has done. Trust me, it works.

You must respect other people's traditions and the setting before you put your development first.

As long as the ceremony was respectful & all plans were known ahead of time, whose business is it that their wedding broke w/tradition? After all, the couple broke w/tradition when they decided to marry. Stop fretting over something that’s none of your business.
