What is “FreedomPhilosphy?” What is “intentional homicide?” I went to your cited Wikipedia page. The definition of “intentional homicide” is wildly misleading, as is attempting to scale that controversial number (which includes civil unrest) to per 100,000.pic.twitter.com/WFSep7yrh8
Is there a single country on your graph to the right of the USA to which you wouldn’t expect the USA to be more favorably compared in any other conceivable category - except maybe sunshine?
As a European, I can't understand why having guns is more important than innocent lives. It's shocking that gun ownership is a right, but healthcare isn't. Look at Europe, we have strong gun control laws and way fewer shootings, although even one is too much.
As an American, guns aren’t important. A sizable minority of my countrymen are just fucking batshit crazy. It’s horrifying to know that even when we take power back they will continue to share space with us.
All of these countries have mental health issues, only 1 lacks gun controls.pic.twitter.com/AJx6VDlBkq
But sadly facts and empirical regularities don’t seem to matter to policy makers in this country. And people view even hard facts through very partisan lenses.
I think people know guns are the problem but you’re right, they just won’t accept it.
This isn't really a fair picture. The incidence of homicide is fairly similar in US and European countries like England,Wales, Italy, and Germany. The weapons may be different but the reults are the same.https://ourworldindata.org/homicides
You need to reread the article. It shows much higher rates if homicide in the USA.
Too many doors? #DoorControlNow
Look to root causes of random acts of violence? Should consider & address
• lock key children
• failure of guardians
• age of social media
• mental illness
• pharmaceuticals
• emotional disturbances
• media violence & copy cat
• bullying & EQ issues
US society
- easy access to firearms
He had explosive devises also ~ it still doesn’t answer why US youth are resorting to acts of violence on the scale we’ve witnessed in last 20 years ~ guns were available & accessible before #Columbine ~ automobiles have been used to commit mass murder & harm as well >root causes
And how many were killed by the explosive devices? None.
You know why no injuries or deaths were caused by the explosives right? None were detonated. The kid didn’t get very far into his plan before being stopped by the armed personnel on site. If he hadn’t had the guns there may have been more deaths.
Whatever fits your narrative, buddy.
Its really just a testament to the good job performed by the guys that stopped the shooter. Luckily this school had on campus officers.
