Good luck defending them from the SEC. If the company uses the dollar or the US banking system, then they’ll have no choice. This is a pretty extreme move to defend the Iranians...

It’s the EU trying to defend itself against Imperial/imperious overreach by the US, dictating what other advanced democracies can & cannot do. It will fail for the reasons you state, but the US is actively poisoning its international alliance architecture. For Iran. Extreme?

Overreach? We are a sovereign nation. We don't have to accept the nuke deal if we don't want to

True, as you have done. But you breached the international agreement, not Iran. Now you are trying to force the other signatories out b/c you don’t like it. That’s the overreach, behaving like hugely arrogant & destructive saboteurs, not custodians of the international system.

The “agreement” was so bad that it couldn’t even pass in Congress, it didn’t even get majority support. It was rejected by the people.

And back to the main point about the Europeans, is that they only care about the money while we care about security. BIG difference. We’ll fine their companies to the breaking point if they defy the sanctions.

Thank you for confirming my original point so aggressively. The JCPOA is entirely about security for Europe. The missiles can reach us, not CONUS. Trade is part of the deal negotiated, the upside for Iran. My views are formed by many years living in the region. Cheers, I’m out.

So if businesses stay in Iran, they will be penalized by the US, but if they leave Iran, they will be penalized for doing so by the EU? How is that supposed to make things better for those companies?

Well, companies will retain from making any long term investments in the US, like they already do. Everyone stocks up now and then stop business as it’s economically too unstable.

Why does it seem that everything Trump does has the effect of separating the US from its allies of 70 years. It's almost like he is following Putin's instructions.

Please, don't end a logical statement with a DNC slogan. Putin is not pushing for any of this. Our "allies" are. Saudi Arabia's prince came over to bribe our business leaders with promise of huge investments, and Netanyahu's army of lobbyists has been pushing for this. Not Putin

The world isn’t the US playground. I am not a fan of Iran. U can’t eat ur cake and have it back. The US should be glad there were no sanctions opposed to them for pulling out of the Iran deal and the Jerusalem BS . The world can do without the US not the other way around.

Why sovereign nation of Europe is now behaving like slave to one Nation why can’t the world drop the USA dollar as a global currency just as Franc foreign minister said last 2 weeks let me see how the US can sanction other independent nation who don’t agree with their policy .
