Remember "superdelegates?" Democrats are trying to come to a compromise that would reduce their role and power in 2020.https://nyti.ms/2L8F7PX

Worth noting they had no effect on the primaries. Other than keeping Bernie in the race, ironically.

False. CNN and the AP called the primary, before California even voted, precisely because of superdelegates. This, despite the fact that the superdelegates would not actually vote for another two months.

Their editorial decision did not cause Bernie to fall behind in proportionally pledged (non-super) delegates to the point where it was mathematically impossible to win by pledged delegates. Their editorial decision did not cause him to get 3 million fewer votes nationally.

It was not mathematically impossible. Unlikely? Yes. The fact remains that’s it’s wildly disingenuous to claim that superdelegates had no effect on the primaries, particularly after that “editorial decision.”

It’s also disingenuous to talk about any type of popular vote from the primaries. A number of states do not even count individual votes during that process.

If they truly believe in democracy they will do away with all of them.

They'd be smarter to demand hopefuls release tax returns for every year they've held elected office - or the past 10, whichever is longer - before allowing their names on any ballot. Weed out the time wasters.

Superdelegates werent the problem. The vast majority of DEMOCRATS voted for Hillary Clinton as did the majority of voters during the election. They had zero effect on the primaries or the outcome. Bernie Sanders and his cult were the problem with the democratic primary.

Super-delegates can nullify votes for popular Dem candidate. WTF vote?? Reprehensible. Americans need ONE party that WILL have an HONEST vote, NOT bought by big business. Public needs candidates not forced down their throats, but repesentatives of public needs!
