This year’s prize for the best baguette in Paris went to the son of Tunisian immigrants, a triumph that challenges the very notion of what it means to be Frenchhttps://nyti.ms/2rKaPKo

It challenges absolutely nothing. Me being of portuguese descent doesn’t make me portuguese, i’m just French with portuguese origins. This is the same for this man. Do not apply your weird logic of nationality/ethnicity on us, stop trying to divide us.

It does not challenge anything, you don't need to be white to be french, only need to love baguette so this guy is super french.

Seriously I did not even see the french racists on Twitter complain this guy won, even they cannot go against someone that makes good baguette, it's a non-issue.

No it doesn't challenge anything, this guy is french, he knows how to cook and can be proud of it regardless of the origins of his parents...

People who were born and raised in France are french to us. We, french people do not judge people from their origins. He is just one french guy like the rest of us. An awesome one cause without bakers we would all be dead here, craving for our daily baguettes. 🍞

A guy made bread. That’s it. This isn’t challenging the identity of being French. Stop trying to make these silly cultural pieces bigger than they are
