Protect the narrative at ALL costs.
-
As Australians we understand that gun violence still happens here but our laws make it very difficult for an dangerous person to mow down our unsuspecting citizens in public areas or even private ones. We aren’t America so their is no narrative our laws work that’s it.
-
More to the point, gun violence is almost entirely from those who have access to guns (farmers). Just in case we needed to clarify the issue further...

So do they get their guns back since their gun control doesn't work?
-
They haven’t had a school shooting 1996. America has one two days ago. So I’d say it worked.

."Involves family members" aka DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
-
Tbf the latest involved the grandfather, not partner. Yes still domestic violence however not in keeping with our understanding. Think this one may be fair..
-
Familial violence is domestic violence
-
Yeah I understand (worked in the industry), just mean violence occurring in a domestic setting isn’t necessarily the same as domestic violence related to power and domination. They can be but not always.
-
Yes it is
-
So years of constant abuse, control, domination and degradation is the same as someone picking up a gun, out of the blue, and killing someone in their family? I’m not talking relative importance, just whether it makes more sense to seperate them into their own buckets..
-
No. Agree to disagree because there is no point badgering me further about it.
-
Ok. Wasn’t trying to badger, thought it was a good discussion on a prickly and important issue. Apologies, will leave you alone.
