How do violent men ensnare women in abusive relationships? Often, experts say, it begins with small demands.https://nyti.ms/2L3esns

Begins when women compromise themselves and their priorities and have no boundaries. Women need to say no and respect themselves

Please read the article. Women don’t stay with men who abuse them right off the bat - it’s an evolving process, like the frog that doesn’t realize it’s being boiled - and attitudes like yours make it really hard for women to leave once they realize what’s happening

This is a very real issue. I thoroughly hate when people ask, "While, why doesn't she just leave?" If only it were that simple. If it was then these relationships would be pretty nonexistent.

True, usually they covet weak, vulnerable women! They manage to charm and isolate them to over power them! Because it is all about power!

Any person is susceptible to this form of relationship, unfortunately. I actually use to volunteer for a domestic violence shelter, & one of the videos we watched during orientation was a woman with a master's degree speaking about her experiences in an abusive relationship.

So many ways: if women (or men) come from an abusive family, they may unconsciously repeat the pattern. Or the abuse creeps in slowly (think frog in a slowly heating pot of water). Or they come from a background where commitment is stressed (think recent So. Baptist pastor).

This article would have been much better if it had also covered the phenomenon brilliantly discussed here by Rita Moreno about her relationship with Marlon Brando: where both parties strike an unspoken deal based on a kind of needy codependencyhttps://youtu.be/ye_dLc-Xj4Y
