What gets in the way of office productivity is having to listen to nearby workers having inane conversations. Headphones are a respite from that.

Shut up: seriously the modern worker just wants privacy and companies took that away from us to watch us more closely. Headphones are the way we can zone out and do our goddamn work without having to listen to all that white noise we’re forced to hear in the open offices.

Same. Small offices with a limited amount of people in there and best if you can even close a door. Good old times...

I had couple of years ago...was like heaven. now we have one big office space that goes around corners but you hear everything. Focusing without headphones has become impossible but noone really understands that

What gets in the way is noisy open office spaces where you cannot think and focus properly because if the zillions of chats going on all around you. The headphones are just the desperate try to zoom out.

Give me 1 minute to find the perfect playlist and I can bang out work for hours. Make me listen to my coworkers talk and I'm taking 100 bathroom breaks
