        1) Impossible to spy 24/7 on 5.000 people (aprox # of persons on that list). It would take this to eliminate the risk. Most terrorists in France acted after radicalizing online on their own. 2) there are different reasons to be on it and most people are not potential terrorists.

        Well, there are different laws. And then, general issues. For instance, we might think that the security services would have prevent the Parkland shooting. They did not despite all the flags. For many reasons. What's happening in France is similar.

        Of course I should say that thank to the French laws the terrorist didn't have access to guns and I'm not even speaking of semi automatic weapons!

        seems like there was a terrorist shoot out that killed many just a couple of years ago. they had full auto weapons too. the bad guys will ALWAYS have guns.

        Well you know that it's not true in countries that have strict control gun laws. This is why the guy yesterday used a knife that made much less casualties and injuries that he would have done with a gun in the same amount of time.
