In a string of important races across the country, national Democrats have been embracing recruits near the political center, hoping they will give the party the chance to compete in Republican-leaning districtshttps://nyti.ms/2rGkK3J

Bad strategy. Leftist policies are broadly popular with the largest group of potentially-persuadable people: nonvoters.

The socialist Democratic Party is telling their candidates to lie about their leftist views until they get elected and act like Obama did prior to his election because there is no way in hell sensible Americans will vote for leftwing radicals.

Depends on the district. But moderates tend to win the harder districts, but not always. Let each district decide.

Democrats may do ok in the midterms. What will be interesting is how far left the party will run in 2020. I envision a likely scenario where the top tier push each other so far down the identity politics & “free” govt stuff rabbit hole, that Trump walks to reelection.

Centrists and liberals are inaccurate terms. Lamb was very far left in terms of labor, socially moderate. Clinton was socially as far left as most recent polling indicated she should be and didn’t care at all about labor
