Is it so painful to be kind to one another that an article is written about it?

How about the gift of a correct diagnosis? How about the gift of excellent, comprehensive medical care? That’s a gift that keeps on giving.

No ethical problem. I've bought meds a lot, gave a patient my old bike, a nearly homeless college student $200 for rent, & countless stolen hotel toiletries to poor/homeless patients. I've also given a couple stuffed bears like the author. Snacks in my bag for hungry patients.

Nothing wrong with that so long as they're not trying to influence the patient's medical opinions or decisions/choices. To play it safe, let those gifts hold no monetary value or impact on their medical condition.

I'm a registered nurse & have given gifts to many patients. Some to patients with no family to visit, sometimes money for lunch for a relatiive who would have gone w/,o for lack of money. & many, many sandwiches & milk to homeless from ER refrig.

Its a shame the unbalenced power a doctor has in canada thanks to the abomination of the mental health act on the canadian charter of rights and freedoms! Support real realities, slap a psycyatrist and pretend you didnt. Your analiable rights matter!

I appreciated the article and the morivations of the author, but, all things considered, I think that a smile and a good word are more appropriate, in addition to the best medical care. Gifts could be misunderstood.

It's "motivations", of course. I can't stand the typos.

There's a bunch of gays and minorities I helped keep from getting blown up by reading the lips of alt-right terrorists back in 1990. If they wanted to gift me a meager stipend to live on, I'd be cool with that.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxe-uemsbYw …

I give gifts to patients I want to sleep with...but I'm not even a doctor. ...Is that controversial?

One of Anne Sexton’s early shrinks gave her a sexy nightgown. He was also sleeping with her.
